grade 12 (year 13)

Grade 12 being the last year of experiencing education before going to college was a heartbreaker. I had many fun experiences and memorable activities that I did throughout my last year of high school, ranging from studying for the IB exams, and going on a beach clean up as part of my club.

learning to cook spaghetti - creativity

With the last year of our high school lives ending, I wanted to hone my cooking skills in order to survive university. With the help of my mother and online recipes, I was able to cook spaghetti; more specifically olio e agilo, which is my favorite. It was a difficult process at first, as I needed help from my mom but as I continued practicing and cooking more and more spaghetti dishes, I was able to master it to the point where I can eat it for dinner, and expand my ability to cook other spaghettis such as bolognese and carbonara.

varsity football team - action

With the pandemic ending, sports teams went full flow in abundance. Football being my favorite sport was the team that I tried for and ended up joining. It was very fun yet persevering. Considering that I was rusty due to the pandemic, I had to work hard to get myself in the team. This was through practicing football after school everyday, and also attending practices and doing well in them. I eventually made it to my first game in three years, where we won and celebrated after.

beach clean-up - service

The pandemic ending also meant that school trips were allowed, and my main priority was getting a school trip for my ocean club, as a way of treating my patient members for persevering through COVID-19. I organised a beach clean-up trip to Bang Saen, which was near our school and one of the many beaches in Thailand that is not without pollution. It was a laborious process finding times when everyone is free, as well as getting bus drivers for our trip, but the end-product made it worth it. We managed to pick up a considerable amount of plastic from the beach, and made separate bags for recyclable materials, to which we donated to the workers on the beach.
